These works are either oil paintings or monoprints. The paintings can be oil on canvas or linen. The canvas or linen is secured on tension stretchers. I meticulously craft each stretcher so that paintings will not warp or bend because of humidity. The canvas is triple primed from the factory; I use rabbit skin glue to prime the linen stretchers. Each work is painted in a process of thinner to thicker layers of paint. Paintings are all signed, dated, then finished with a protective varnish.
The monoprints are original pieces of art made with oil based inks. They are not one of a run of prints as found in lithography. Each is original and cannot be reproduced. Texture is understood differently in monoprints and paintings. With monoprints the texture is made of marks pressed flat into the paper while paintings have marks that sit upon the surface of the work.
All paintings may be framed or not according to the clients tastes. I am able to frame paintings in a shadow box framing. Shadow box framing leaves a black gap between the painting and the finished wood frame. This is a gallery style of framing, contemporary in nature, emphasizing the work of art over the frame. Clients may choose any stain and wood. I am not able to frame prints myself but will have to contract them out to a local framer. Clients may choose to find a suitable framer of their own if they desire.
